L: Autumn 15 I’M LISTENING TO

The autumn colours have started to appear their most beautiful these past few weeks. If you’re looking for some melodies to accompany the seasonal strolls through the carpets of brightly coloured leaves, look no further than down below.

Easy-listening acoustic tones are provided courtesy of 17 year old Khalid Robinson, also known as ‘Kai!’ Saved is bound to give you the feels. Relaxed tunes from COMODO and Thrupence will be more than enough to keep your mood warm as the cold snap takes hold. So grab the coats, scarves, headphones and whatever else you’ll need and head outside while the temperature still allows it.

There are for sure some beautiful pieces of fabric here. According to their website the most recent collection available to buy online is named ‘Monsoon’ and takes inspiration from southeast asia and the colours of blue and grey present during the monsoon season. The brand is relatively recent having been incarnated only in 2008. Originating in Singapore (where I may hopefully end up in next year) and the clothes currently being produced in Indonesia, the brand offers western style clothing with distinctive asian twists. The Fabrics are sourced from across the world including Thailand, the UK, US and Japan. All this information can be found directly from their website.

So to start on the clothes, I have a particular favourite. The piece above, a ‘Rib Extended Throw’ made from 100 percent cotton. It is half robe half shall, yet looks much more elegant than your usual comfort wear. This is from the Spring collection but is still available for purchase now.

The knitwear on offer brings a slightly Gothic flavour to the collections. Mostly in black yet again there are small twists and features which come to attention when looking closer at the clothing. Perfect for casual wear and for relaxing the appearance of those more formal items in the wardrobe.

The have also recently released a new line of shoes, the detailing in the first two on the bottom row of images look really impressive and indeed smart. Some of the shoe designs look like nothing you would find on your average British High Street.

Zara September Looks

Zara’s september lookbooks offer something different to those of previous. Their selection of models represents a variety of ages and styles. With particular emphasise on this months coats. I have to say the images appear slick clean and professional keeping in line with the general marketing approach for Zara. Zara online is in fact one of the few online stores I feel confident in using, free returns and an email letting you know when your item will be delivered come in very handy if there’s ever a problem.

The whole range of clothes this season seem to bring back the simplicity and elegance of line. The knitwear is back in full force for winter with a range of cardigans and jumpers keeping you warm no matter the occasion. The series of images doesn’t manage to exhibit shoes very well yet they are clearly displayed with multiple images around the website.

Studs play a reoccurring role within the collection this september. In my opinion studs are often overused however the designers at Zara have used them in a minimalistic style.

Some of the coats such as the one on the bottom right are very eye-catching statement pieces and would probably have to be worn with very plain trousers. Not to say that for some of the clothes we have seen similar things before such as the silver jeans on the right are very reminiscent of some I purchased two years ago from Zara. That being said I think this fall Zara really have some great clothes, affordable? Not as much as in previous years yet I hope to see a good winter sale.
